I got my start in jewelry as a teen when I worked at David Weiss and learned the basics of Gemstones, Diamonds, and jewelry metals. From there, I worked at Gordons, Bailey Banks and Biddle, and Helzberg before I was hired at JAB Jewelry.
I went to the University of Pittsburgh (Katz Graduate School of Business) for my graduate and undergraduate degrees in Business. I have a Graduate degree in Diamonds and Diamond Grading from the GIA (Gemological Institute of America). I am GIA certified as an AJP (accredited jewelry professional), DCA (Diamond Council of America) certified in Diamonds and Gemstones, and have a Graduate Sales degree from the American Gemological Society.
I like my job because on a typical day I get to make about 15 people happy, on a good day I get to make 20 + people happy. It is a joy to help someone create something that says just what they want that they could never buy in any store.
I am proud that we do our work right on location, and it really means something when I say “Made in Mcmurray”. We combine old-world craftsmanship with modern technology to produce things that are simply original.
I live locally in Peters Township and have an 11-year-old daughter Shaylyn, and my wife of 27 years Karen. Aside from my work, I enjoy serving my Church where I teach second grade Sunday School.
I also enjoy bowling and have been repairing and restoring pinball machines and arcade games for a long time. My friends affectionately refer to my house as “Flynns”, you would understand if you’ve ever seen the movie “Tron”.
